Upcoming Events:

WRBC 101 Orientation Class – THIS Saturday, January 18, 1-2:30 pm, Common Office Area – You are welcome to attend an afternoon of information about Whyte Ridge Baptist Church.  Whether you are new to this church or a long-time attender, this is a good opportunity to learn more about who we are, what we believe, how we operate, and ways you can serve.  For those interested in formal church membership, this seminar is also part of that process. Men’s Sports Night – THIS Saturday, Jan 18, 8-10 pm. Bring your gym shoes to the church and join us to play basketball, soccer, etc.  No registration needed and no charge. Contact doug@whyteridgebaptist.ca for more information.

Men’s Breakfast – Saturday, Jan 25, 9-11 am. Guest Speaker: Pastor Bruce Hollins . Cost is $10 – must pre-register by January 20 Men’s Breakfast. Contact doug@whyteridgebaptist.ca.

   Women at Whyte Ridge Brunch – Sat, February 1, 11-1:00 pm. Cost $10. Guest speaker: Holly Kroeker. Join us for a time of fellowship as we share a meal together and get to know each other better. Register online Women at Whyte Ridge Brunch Registration by January 26 or at the table in the foyer for the next two Sundays.

Membership Meeting – Sunday, February 2, 12:00 pm following the morning service. Whyte Ridge Baptist Church will hold our next Membership Meeting on February 2, 2025, immediately following the morning service. The primary focus of this meeting will be the 2024 Annual Report. A meeting agenda and copies of all relevant documents will be made available in advance of the meeting.

Wednesday nights at WRBC starting up January 22:

Come To The Table Weekly Meal –  begins Jan 22, 5:30-6:45 pm – cost $7/person; $25/household of 4, main auditorium. Please register online Come To The Table Registration by Sunday, Jan 19 to help with meal planning. Menu for Jan 22: Pulled Pork on a Bun, Chips and Coleslaw. Dessert: Oreo Ice cream Cake. You can also sign up at the Welcome Centre to help with the meal planning (payment will still be at the door when you arrive to Come To The Table).

Discussion Group – begins Jan 22 following Come To the Table (7-9 pm). Meet in the Fireside Room to discuss Sunday’s sermon and develop your church family connections. Casual attendance & drop-ins are welcome.

Canada Watch Newsletter, published by EFC (Evangelical Fellowship of Canada) – available at the Information Centre – Learn about key issues facing our culture and how biblical principles apply in these areas.

Thank You from Our Missionaries:

Far Corners Ministry:  On behalf of Far Corners Ministry we want to say a very big “Thank You” for the very generous Christmas offering we received from the Whyte Ridge church family.  These funds cover the cost of helping children of needy pastors to have access to a better quality education that they would receive otherwise.  In some cases they are able to attend better schools and in other places where that is not an option, the children can get extra tutoring.  This results in children having the tools to complete their schooling and be able to pursue higher education.  So thanks once again for partnering with us and supporting this aspect of ministry in northeast India that is making a real difference in young lives! – In His service, Shant & Ginny Manuel

Missionfest Manitoba is coming up soon February 7-9 at Church of the Rock!  Kids at the Ridge Programming

Kids at the Ridge Request – Trust Package Donations Needed!

On Sunday, January 19th, as part of our lesson on trusting God (and the Israelites wandering the desert), our kids will be making a “Trust Package” containing a few basic needs for someone who needs encouragement!  They will also write a note of encouragement (or draw a picture) to put in their bags and let them know that God loves them. They can take this package home and decide who they would like to give it to.

In order to do this activity with the kids, we are looking for some items to add to our packages!   Here are some ideas of what we need (must fit in a medium ziplock bag): band-aids, small sanitizer bottles, individual kleenex packages, gum, mentos, travel size shampoos or other toiletries etc.   Please drop off any items you can donate this Sunday or by next Sunday morning for us to use for our Trust Packages on January 19th!

Hey Parents – this registration form is for all children attending our programs in Nursery up to Grade 6.  This information is required to be filled out each year for each child to make sure we have updated allergies, permissions, and consent for your child. Please complete this form if you have not done so already.

SONSeekers Elementary – Kindergarten to Grade 4
The Wave – Grade 5 and 6

Join us for our In-House night this coming Friday! We will be playing games, having snack, small groups, and we will look at one of the questions you have asked.

Our Question this week is: “Is there an in-between between Heaven and Hell?” It’s a great question and challenging to think about. Where do we end up after this life is over? Can’t wait to dig into the Bible with you on this topic!
