Update on Lauryn Edel:
We would like to thank you all for praying for Lauryn and our family this past week. Your prayers provided us with peace and strength during this time. To give a brief update, Lauryn has a swollen optic nerve affecting one of her eyes that is causing her to have reduced vision. It does appear to be slowly healing on its own. The doctors will be monitoring her for the cause of this, which could be a number of factors, which is why she will be having a repeat MRI done again in 6 months. The cause of this condition is typically associated with MS which is what the doctors will be looking for. As a prayer request, please continue to pray that she will get her vision fully restored and that she will not have repeat episodes of this. Praise God for an amazing medical team that He put in place to work with us. Thank-you.

Please pray for Lauryn Edel (daughter of Wayne and Andrea Edel). The Edels had taken Lauryn to an appointment with an eye doctor because she was experiencing blurred vision in one eye. She was quickly referred to specialists and is now at Children's Hospital awaiting an MRI after the discovery of swelling around her optic nerve. Please pray that God would quickly resolve this problem, and that He would grant Lauryn and the Edels peace during this time.

Thank you to all who were praying for my brother-in-law and sister, Bill and Norma Hills. We just received this update from the surgery this afternoon.
"Thank you all for praying;
Good News from Bill and Norma Hills' youngest daughter, Mikaela, who wrote the following report:
"My dad's doctor just came out. His surgery went well. They successfully removed the entire tumor and part of the small intestine by laparoscopy.
The liver spots were tested and they came back negative for cancer.
He is now in the recovery room, as he is still napping from the anesthesia.
Thanks for the prayers. Our family appreciates them!"
Mikaela, Norma, Matt and Rachel Hills "
Blessings,

Update to request posted November 27, 2013
To briefly summarize Bill had a couple of Oncologist appointments since and they were conflicting. Ranging from stage 4 cancer in his right lung, liver, hip and kidneys to something much less serious. This news came just before Christmas, but then he sought additional counsel and received conflicting news. Since that time he was given a full bone scan and a torso MRI. This below is the latest news and we are taking this as an answer to prayer. I must say that both Bill and my sister Norma arrived at a place of complete surrender amidst the turmoil of the past two months. They are both completely resigned to enjoy life in each day as it is granted from the hand of God and that whatever occurs that it will bring glory to Him alone. They hope and pray for healing, but whatever happens they are at peace.
"Bill's condition was downgraded from Stage 4 to Stage 2 since the MRI shows that the growths in his lungs, kidneys and liver are just cysts and not metastasis from the GIST tumor. There is still concern for the spot on the hip. The date for surgery to remove the cancerous tumor has not been set as of yet.
Thanks for praying, we believe this is an answer to prayer."
Thank you to so many from our WRBC church family that have been supporting us in prayer.

I came home on Monday to my family so grateful that God had given me the right surgeon to heal my body.
I give thanks for my Church family who helped George and the children in so many ways.
I ask for healing for George as he has an infection to fight and also that my stomach will start to accept food to give me strength again as I am extremely weak.
The next four weeks should complete the physical healing but we know that God has his own timetable and I will try to wait on his time. To The Lord be the glory for what he has done in our lives.
