Susan Shallcross
George and Susan Shallcross - Susan is slated for hernia surgery on Friday Nov 14th. Please pray that she would not get bumped. Normally this would not be a problem but the plan for George is for Susan to have surgery and get well so that George can get his tracheotomy before his Parkinson’s gets any more advanced and it becomes an emergency. His surgery will require a lengthy stay and a lot of post op care at home. Aaliyah is also due to have surgery in December.
Pray for Susan’s to have surgery as scheduled and an uncomplicated recovery
Pray for George as he struggles with choking and as he faces adjusting to life with a trachea
Pray for Aaliyah as she faces surgery

We are so grateful that the surgeon found nothing wrong with Georges stomach but did find that the problem is that Parkinsons disease has stiffened all the muscles in his neck. The only answer is a Tracheostomy but this will be a life changing surgery. He would no longer be able to speak, which is worrying him, and the care would be difficult depending on how they do it. Due to the mixed messages from the doctors at St. Boniface, last night, we will be part of a team meeting at HSC at 10:00am to learn all the details so he can sign an informed consent if that is his decision. Please continue to pray for us as I also have abdominal surgery slated on November 14th and this may have to be postponed,

Susan Shallcross
George and Susan Shallcross - We are asking for prayer for our family and safety for George.
George has deteriorated over the past few weeks and his choking is getting dangerous.
Due to two days of terrible choking it has been decided to operate on him Thurs Oct 30th at 10:30 am at Saint Boniface Hospital.
If there is no obvious problem it will be diagnosed as part of his Parkinson's disease and he will have a tracheostomy operation. It will depend on OR time and surgeon availability tomorrow for this to be done.

As many of you know, Marlene’s mom suffered a stroke on October 14, 2014.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. this afternoon, after suffering from Alzheimer’s disease for 15 years, – God finally ended Mom’s earthly struggle, by calling her into His presence, peacefully from her bed at Meadowood Manor.
Funeral arrangements are pending, as there are some significant logistics to coordinate with some of Marlene’s family in BC, who will be coming to attend. We will let you know once arrangements are finalized. In all likelihood, the funeral may not occur until mid to late next week.
In the meantime, we thank you in advance for your emails and calls of support. Please forgive us if we fail to respond to calls and emails in a timely fashion, as we work through the various planning issues.

Marlene Piel - Marlene's mother had a stroke on Tuesday afternoon. We do not think she will recover, or what would pass for recovery in her condition in any event.
If God decides that this is the time for Marlene’s mom to finally go home, we are completely at peace with it. Her 15 year affliction with dementia has just been too long.
Marlene's dad is taking this incredibly well considering. He is happy that she appears to be peaceful and not in any discomfort. Please keep him in your prayers and his health is also deteriorating and this has been very difficult for him.
We covet your prayers, we only want the best for mom and believe that she has fought the good fight and it is time for her to be with her Lord and Saviour.

Donna Hartle
Donna Hartle - Thank you all so much for your prayers for Melanie. She spent the night in the hospital, throwing up regularly (with blood in her vomit). At the last update, she hadn’t vomited since about 7 this morning. Praise God! they are finally doing a scope today. Please pray that all goes well and they find out what is causing the problem and she gets treatment that works. Also, please pray for her family as they are under incredible stress at the moment, not only with this situation, but other situations they are dealing with right now that I am not at liberty the share.

Please pray for my great niece, Melanie who is almost 19. She has been battling Lyme disease for about 3 years. They have been to emergency numerous times and most recently just a couple days ago and again tonight as she is unable to hold anything down. They just keep treating her with IV fluids to rehydrate her and send her home with anti-nausea medication which isn't working. They say they are making an appointment for a scope, but so far that hasn't happened. Please pray most importantly for healing and also that the doctors would take this seriously and get to the bottom on this.

Emmie Dryjski
Emmie Dryjski - After battling lupus for over ten years, my sister Wanda went to the Lord on
Tuesday, Sept.16. The disease crippled her terribly and attacked her immune
system. The last four weeks at the Grace Hospital were very difficult for
her. Her immune system was extremely compromised which made her vulnerable
to one infection after another. The hospital staff tried everything to keep
her alive, but the third infection took her life. I was fortunate to be with
my sister the last half hour of her life holding her hand. Praise the lord.
An intimate family memorial service will be held on Saturday at the Grant
Memorial Baptist Church where she attended to honour my sister. It\'s been a
difficult summer and beginning of fall.
