Important Family Update
It is with saddened hearts that we let you know that yesterday afternoon Wes Krahn passed away suddenly and went home to be with Jesus.
Wes and April, along with their daughters Isabel and Madeline, have long been a much-loved part of Whyte Ridge Baptist Church for many years. Wes deeply cherished his family, had a sincere love for Jesus, a great respect for the truth of God’s Word, and was loyal and loving to those around him.
He will be greatly missed by this church family.
Please pray for April and the girls during this time of heartbreaking loss. And in this time of grief, may we also find comfort in knowing that Wes is safe and joyful in the presence of Jesus our Saviour.
We will pass along further information as funeral arrangements are made.

Thank you so much for praying. Your prayers were answered! After just under two hours, I left the immigration office with my official protocol which is good until my new ID card comes. Please pray I have this card in hand before my trip to Chicago at the end of April. It will make my return trip to Brazil go a lot smoother.
Thanks so much again! Blessings,
Lyndell

Hello Everyone,
I would be so grateful if you could pray for me tomorrow at 2 p.m. BST. I have an appointment with the Department of Immigration of the Brazilian Federal Police to renew my visa. The plan is actually to renew and change to a familial visa now that I am married to Paulo. The advantage of this is, it is good for 9 years. (Missionary visas are only good for 2 years now. Up until recently, they were also valid for 9 years.) Also, we are looking into me becoming a dual citizen and this helps with that process.
My colleagues and I are so grateful for Luciano, our immigration lawyer. Please thank the Lord for him!
Thank you so much,
Lyndell

God has been answering prayer already!
Because I had one bag to check I was with an Air Canada clerk when we found out our flight to Toronto was cancelled due to bad weather there (although the team from the east coast is flying there right now - they just boarded their flight!)
So - we are delayed here for 2 hours and then flying to Montreal. There we change to Qatar airlines and fly to Doha and then to Mumbai. Lord willing, we will arrive 1 hour later than the other team (2:30 am). We've already adjusted plans so a shuttle will be ready to pick us up from the airport to take us to the hotel to join the other team. I'm thankful for how things have turned out and that we can join them for the last leg of our flight to Bagdogra!
Thanks for praying. Enjoying the adventure already!!

Andrew and Courtney Joy Friesen
Thank you for your continued prayer for Andrew's health and ongoing fight to get his medication covered by insurance. Unfortunately, the insurance still has not approved the coverage. The case is currently being reviewed by the insurance's second level appeals team. What is particularly difficult, is that Andrew is unable to communicate with them directly. So far, the claims specialist informed Andrew that they don't know when a verdict will be made. The medication costs $1,000 a month, and this has put a tremendous financial strain on Andrew and Courtney Joy. So far God has miraculously provided through generous friends and family over the last few months. One time donations can be made through AIM Canada website. Please, please continue to pray for this wonderful family.

Andrew and Courtney-Joy Friesen
Please pray for Andrew and Courtney-Joy. Andrew was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis (a systemic inflammatory arthritis affecting the spine and large joints.) He was prescribed medication that costs $1,000.00 a month. Praise God he started to feel the results. They prayed the insurance company would cover it, but before Christmas they denied the first claim. Now Andrew's rheumatologist is refusing to write a follow up letter. He says that insurance shouldn't question his diagnosis. They have until Friday to apply the second appeal or they will close the case permanently. Please pray, pray, pray that the rheumatologist will be humble and cooperate.

Tomorrow morning (Monday) Brooklyn will be back in the operating room for another 8 hour surgery to work on her second leg followed by an 5-7 day hospital stay. Her previous surgery & hospitalization was pretty traumatic for her so she is quite anxious. Her parents are very tired as they go into this second round. Please pray for peace and calmness for our precious girl and for strength for her parents. They are most thankful for your prayers.

From Shirley Burton: Last week Brooklyn’s surgery lasted for 10 hours and they were not able to complete everything. A second surgery has been slated for November 7th to finish up. Her hospital stay has been quite difficult because of her extreme anxiety. They are hoping to get her home on Tuesday or Wednesday and then she will go back in on Monday for an additional number of days (to be determined). She does not know that she has to go back for more surgery so much wisdom is needed in how to relay this to her. Her parents are very tired and when she comes home there will be lots of modifications that they will need to implement for her care. Thank you for your prayers. They are feeling very prayed for and it is what is helping them get through this.

Our granddaughter Brooklyn (10 years old) is scheduled for surgery on Wednesday, October 26th at Children’s Hospital. Brooklyn is adopted from Ethiopia and has Cerebral Palsy as well as a number of other health challenges. Her mobility has declined over the past year and the surgery is planned to straighten both her hips and knees and hopefully get her walking again. We have been told that it will be an 8 hour surgery with two surgeons present. We would appreciate prayer for our precious granddaughter, her parents, siblings and extended family as we support through this journey.
