We are so thankful for your prayers and we are praising the Lord for his answers! The latest news is Dad is eating food! He is also walking a lot in the mornings with a walker. He is still feeling tired and sore. Today when Mom went to visit she noticed his stomach was swollen. The nurses aren't sure why but he had some tests done this morning, so hopefully the doctor can find out what is going on and let Dad know on his rounds tomorrow morning. The nurses did say if it's fluid it can be easily taken care of. They also took one of his two IVs out and another one of several tubes he has been hooked up to. He is hoping that will make it easier to sleep tonight.
Mom had her first Covid vaccine today! And she has had no side effects. PTL

Lyndell Campbell (NAB Missons)
Prayer request update from Lyndell Campbell (NAB Missions):
Hello Everyone!
Not much to report tonight. Dad is still in ICU which we are thankful for. He is still very weak and is having trouble using his hands, so he wouldn't be able to press the call button for help if he needed it in a regular room. Today they removed a couple of tubes - one was going through his nose and was very uncomfortable for him so I am sure it is a relief to have that one gone! Mom stayed home today to get some rest. Tomorrow she and my sister will go see Dad again. Hopefully, they will be able to video call me so I can see him, too!
As I spoke to my Mom today we marvelled at how blessed we are to have so many praying for Dad and us as a family! Thank you very much!
Blessings,
Lyndell

Susan Shallcross
Prayer request from Susan Shallcross:
A few months back I suffered a small stroke that was undiagnosed until recently. I've been experiencing failing memory, troubles sleeping and feeling exhausted . . . I feel scared.
I have an upcoming appointment where I hope to receive a prescription for a new medication that may help with healing of the brain. This is hopeful news but I cant swallow small pills - they get stuck in my throat.
Please pray that I experience God's strength, wisdom, joy and perseverance daily.

Prayer request from Lyndell Campbell-Requia (NAB Missions):
Earlier this week they had my Dad walking for the first time since surgery. This is an important step in his recovery. Later in the day he was moved out of the ICU to a room on the general surgery ward!
Yesterday he was feeling very weak (weaker than the day before) and hadn't slept well his first night in this new ward. We are thankful that he has more strength in his hands and is able to use his cell phone now. That way, when he is feeling better he can call us.
Dad hasn't been allowed to eat any food since the surgery. Before he is allowed

Prayer request received from Lyndell Campbell-Requia on Tuesday.
Yesterday, my Dad, Curtis Campbell, was taken by ambulance to the University of Alberta Hospital. Today he had surgery for a blockage in his bile duct. Tonight we were told they ended up removing 25% of his liver and his gallbladder. He is currently in ICU because of concerns over his blood pressure and he needed oxygen. Tomorrow we will learn more details.
I would be so grateful if you could pray that my Dad would make a full recovery. Also, please pray for my Mom.

Prayer from Angela,
Gracious God, we love you, thank you your faithfulness, love and mercy. We ask that your people would humble themselves and repent of their sins and that you would forgive our sins and heal our land. We pray that the spirit of darkness be lifted from our nation and the scales would be lifted from peoples eyes that they may see the truth and be set free. We pray for a return of your people to the fear of the Lord. Amen.

From Courtney Joy Friesen:
Hey church family, can I ask you to pray for my grandma Pat? She has Alzheimer’s and in the past week and a half has refused to eat. My parents are going in to try and encourage her to drink the purée... but she’s non communicative, unkind & has even become aggressive. This is new for her, as in past years despite her forgetting she has always held onto the joy of the Lord. Pray she would eat and that even in the fog she’s in that she’d sense Jesus near to her. My beloved grandma knew her Lord intimately, and we as a family are praying she would cling to him in these hard days.

Irma Kelm
On Wednesday, Irma Kelm passed away into glory. Another faithful servant has gone home to be with Jesus. We are deeply saddened at our loss but we have peace in knowing that she has joyfully entered into the beautiful eternity that she longed for.
A small funeral is being planned for Friday, January 29th at 2 pm. Prior to that, a link will be provided that will allow others to view the service online. A larger memorial will likely also take place in the future when covid guidelines allow.
Irma has long been a pillar in the life of Whyte Ridge Baptist Church and she will be greatly missed.

From Ron and Marilyn Krahn, who used to attend WRBC, in regards to their granddaughter Savannah:
Yesterday, we received the phone call from Jeremy that we never wanted to get. We are shaken, but not crushed. The following was submitted to our church prayer chain.
Jeremy and Lana Krahn: (12/23)—Dr. Waltz called this morning and told us that the team in Ann Arbor will be reaching out to us to schedule open heart surgery on Savannah sometime in the next couple of months. The time has come to fix her supravalvular aortic stenosis to prevent any damage to her heart. Up until this point her heart has been tolerating the extra work quite well; no thickening, no enlargement. The intervention will be done to fix the aorta to keep stress off an otherwise healthy heart. We solicit your prayers for a smooth trip out to Michigan in the midst of COVID closures. Recovery time of at least a week is expected. Thanks, The Krahn Family.

From Donna Hartle: Mom is now on comfort care as she is just not doing well. Please pray she will be comfortable and pass peacefully into the arms of Jesus in His timing. My sister & I are both allowed to visit now…… at least until Monday. The nurse told Carol last night that they got a memo that visitors wouldn’t be allowed as of Monday, but she wasn’t sure whether that would apply to us as well. So really appreciate your prayers that we would be allowed to visit and be with her for whatever time she has left. Thank you!

From Donna Hartle - Update on my mother, Elsie Muir:
CT scans showed severe arthritis throughout her lower back. Brain scan showed severe degeneration of both the front and back. They now have her on Hydromorphone regularly for the pain which seems to be helping. She has been more alert and communicating better the last couple days. We appreciate your continued prayers for her as they try to get her stronger and stabilized. She is going to need to go to a personal care home when she is ready to leave the hospital. Please pray for her to make that transition well when the time comes and that she will be able to go directly to Meadowood Manor and not have to go to an interim place first.
(Note this was resent to ensure delivery)

From Doug: Ada has requested prayer for John as he patiently waits to enter paradise. His health has not worsened these past days but he has voiced his desire for no future intervention with trips to the hospital. Ada lovingly desires to be a peaceful presence for John while at the same time acknowledging her own grief with the prospect of life without him. Please pray that they both experience God's presence and peace as they journey through John's remaining days together (this could be days or weeks).

DONNA Hartle
From Donna Hartle - Update on my mother, Elsie Muir (from this week end):
CT scans of the brain and back showed severe arthritis throughout her lower back. Brain scan showed severe degeneration of both the front and back. The doctor was not hopeful that she will improve enough to go back to her former residence and will need to go into a PCH. They have started her on Hydromorphone regularly for the pain which seems to be helping. At least she had a better day yesterday. Your continued prayers for her are greatly appreciated as they try to get her stronger and stabilized, and that they figure out the right balance for pain management. Also pray for us as we try to choose the best PCH for her, etc.
Thank you so much!
