Hey All,

Hope you’re signed up for our event this Friday evening. If you are not yet, please contact me ASAP. It’s $20 a person and we are meeting at 6:15 at Fort Whyte Alive on McCreary Road.  Here are the two forms you will need to fill out ON-Water-Waiver-2 and this one here.  If possible, get these forms to Rudy before the event.

Here is the info you need to make sure you’re getting where you need to go.

When arriving, we need everyone to park in the staff parking lot. When entering off of McCreary, drive past the farm, past the overflow parking, and past the regular parking lot – to the left of the main building (the Alloway Reception Centre), there is a gate. This gate will open when you drive close to it. Drive straight for about 50 meters, past the sod house, past the fork in the road to go to the “Siobhan Richardson Field Station” – you should now be in the staff parking lot (it is a long skinny lot with a grassy area in front it and the Richardson Interpretive Centre to the South). This is the parking lot where you will meet Brahm, the staff person, and the volunteers. Try to have your group arrive as close to 6:30 as possible.

There is a wedding ceremony rehearsal in the Alloway Reception Centre, so please make sure nobody goes through this building or parks in the main parking lot.

Once the whole group has arrived in the staff parking lot, everyone will go to the paddling location together (about a 6 minute walk). There will be no building access, so make sure people bring a water bottle if they want one. There are porta-potties where you are paddling, so washroom access will be available. We currently only have 1 staff and 1 volunteer (I am waiting to hear back from a few more) so it is unlikely we will be able to do a full paddle instructional program, but Brahm is very experienced and will be happy to help out as much as possible. You will have full access to the canoes and kayaks, so people should be able to get a good taste of what there is to offer.

Once the paddling is over at 8:30, the group will walk back to the parking lot together and Brahm will unlock the gate to let people out (and relock after everyone).

Hey All,

I can’t wait to see you this week as we have one of our Summer Events on Friday July 26th! Make sure you come ready for some water games, bring a change of clothes and a towel if you’re worried you’ll get soaked! We’ll have snack and time to just hang out as well!

I’m also excited to invite our new Youth for this event as well, so if you’re going into Gr. 6 this fall you’re welcome to join us!

Hey Hey!

It is the end of the school year! We have celebrated our grads, and we’re slowly saying ‘hello’ to Summer! This coming Friday will be the last regular Youth Event until the fall. BUT that is not something to be sad about, we will have two big events coming this Summer. We will have a water fight, and some canoeing happening.

For this Friday, we will meet, we’ll eat some Pizza, we’ll spend time as small groups to share some plans for the summer, and getting a chance to pray for one another. I hope you can all make it there!

We have a pretty special evening this week for youth because we will have Jared share his testimony, AND we also have Bruce Hollins join us as a visitor. Bruce is a potential interim Pastor for our church as Pastor Terry retires this year. Bruce wanted to get to know us, and I hope you want to get to know him.

We have some exciting things coming up as well, so make sure you put these events in your calendar:

April 26th: Family Night! Last one of the Year, DO NOT MISS THIS! Always an amazing place to meet people and friends, and just go nuts with some sports and awesome snacks

May 17th: Flying Squirrel!

I will not be at youth from April 25th to May 11th, but you’ll be in the best hands throughout that time, and you’ll have an amazing time no doubt!

This week, we are meeting at Abundant Life Baptist Church (1396 Plessis Rd) for Camp Nutimik Worship Night! I hope we’ll see you all for that night there! (if you need a ride, please let me know)

Upcoming: Friday the 29th, there will be NO YOUTH, because of Good Friday! But we will be back for the first Friday of April.

Hey Everyone!

Please make sure to read the entire email as there is some vital information for this week in it.

We are meeting for a regular night tomorrow at the church at 6:45, BUT we are building a video for our church to see what Youth is like and how they can be a part of what we do in different ways. This means that some of the kids and leaders will be in the video. This video will be shown at church AND be posted on our website. We do send a registration out every year where you sign off on whether you are comfortable to have your kids shown on our social media, but this is a step further where this video will be use for promotional use.

If you could do me a massive favour and either send me an email, a text, or simply call me, and let me know if that is ok or not for your kids, that would be helpful. This is simply another step of transparency beyond the form that you signed at the beginning of the year.

We also have a Camp Nutimik Worship Night coming up next week (Mar 22nd) at Abundant Life Baptist Church (1396 Plessis Rd). If there is a need for car-pooling please make me aware so we can plan for that.

Do not worry I saw some geese and it’s staying light out later, spring is on its way!

To make sure we spend time caring for one another so we do not freeze from social activities, we have a great activity for you this week!

This week is another one of our Small Group Nights, a night where your small group meets in a different place in a unique way! Here are the details you’ll need!

Sr High Girls: You’ll be meeting at Christina Coopers place from 7 to 9pm for a Tropical day at the beach!

Jr High Girls: You’ll be meeting at Emma Wynne’s house for a spa/dance night at 7 to 9pm.

Jr High Boys: You will be playing some split screen minecraft with snacks at my house from 7 to 9pm (940 Centennial St.)

Sr High Boys: Michael and Jared wanted to make a gym night happen for you, so you’ll meet at the church from 7 to 9pm!

If you have any questions regarding timing, location, and activity, please contact your small group leaders, or me if you cannot reach them! Have an amazing Weekend!

What an amazing weekend we got to experience at Mission Fest, I hope you got to enjoy your time learning about the hundreds of different ways we can get engaged within mission even right here in Winnipeg!

We are now jumping into some new things at 4HG with people in our group sharing their life stories, sharing their faith, sharing what God is doing in the lives of people that we know and love.

I can’t wait to see ya’ll this Friday!

Next week Friday (Feb 16th), we have a Game of Gorgon planned, it’s going to be ridiculous, fun, chaotic evening that you can invite your friends to!

Hey All!

I wanted to throw out a quick reminder to you all that tonight and this weekend Mission Fest Manitoba is happening at Church of the Rock! I’m really excited for this weekend since our church is going to be somewhat represented there with Tim Noble being one of the leaders of the weekend, and some of our own church worship team, leading worship on Sunday afternoon.

We will also be part of the weekend as a Youth group as we will be attending the Friday Night Youth event on Feb 2nd, we will be meeting at the west doors of Church of the Rock at 6:45pm! We will get a chance to check out the 150 booths of different ministries both here and abroad. There will be a session happening you can sit and listen to, there will also be some other things geared toward youth ages in their youth room. You’ll get to choose where you want to be as long as You’re SIGNED IN with myself or Erika Cooper, and in a group of at least 3 people!
We will have a rally toward the end of the night at 9:15pm where if you’re in middle school you’ll be picked up (again from the west doors), if you’re Sr. High School and would like for the after hours worship, please make sure you’ll let me know and make sure you’ll have a ride home planned for the end of the evening.
