It is a new year and we have a new opportunity to connect and build relationships with one another and with Jesus!
We have some exciting events coming up that we can’t wait to jump into with you!
Since covid we have stayed away from snacks that are not prepackaged. But this new year we want to give opportunity for parents to get involved again in different ways. The first way is going to be for parents who want to help with snacks. If that is you please contact Erika Cooper who will be excited to collaborate with you! (erikacooper0101@gmail.com)
We have some exciting events coming up to mark your calendars on!
This Friday (Jan 5th) we have a Guest Speaker Alexis join us to talk about what God’s been doing in her life since she stepped into the missionary field!
The following week (Jan 12th) there is a missionary couple who are going to present their lives as missionaries at Rowandale Church, and we’ve been invited to join them (feel free to discuss some carpooling opportunities with your friends)
And one more exciting Missionary event we will be attending as a Youth group of going to be the Manitoba Mission Fest especially the Friday Event on February 2nd.
I dont know if you’re noticing a theme… but I think God might have something in store for us this year to help us focus on the great commission in Matthew 28.

Tonight we will have an In-House event with Games, Snack, Music, and Jesus! Hope you can all make it and be excited to spend the Friday night together with your friends and leaders.
We have some exciting events coming in the next few weeks, including a Small-group night, where the small groups split up and meet at different places. If you as a parent would be willing to host one of those, please send me a message so we can plan what that night will look like together.

For this week’s youth evening I am excited to announce that we will be doing some archery tag. The event will happen at the church from 6:45 to 9pm, and costs $10 per person. Bring your friends and let’s have a blast!
There will be snacks, and we will have a good time together.

I’m so excited to share our upcoming plans with you. Here is all you need to know for the next few weeks!
This coming Friday (4th) we will be having an in-house night full of community through games, snacks, music and Jesus. Be at the church at 6:45!
Friday the 11 we will watch a movie (Iron Giant).
Friday the 18 we will be playing Archery Tag (More info to come on this event).
December 9 – 10 we will be doing a Retreat Day for our Junior Youth. If you have been at one of these you know you should be excited about those days!

We are closing out the school year tomorrow with some fun movies you created, will eat pizza, hang out in small groups, talk about bringing Jesus with us into our summers and how we can stay connected. You’ll get a schedule for the summer that will have all the information on it so you’re never behind.

I can’t believe it’s JUNE!!! We are coming toward the end of the School year and I’m sure you’re all wondering how the Summer is going to go. I know that this headline is super disappointing. No youth! Tragedy. It’s for good reason though!
This coming Friday, our registered Senior High Youth (please contact me if you have a question regarding this) are heading to Camp Nutimik for the weekend. Information will be below.
Youth will resume on May 27th as normal. Hope to see you then!
Youth Retreat Information you’ll need to know:
Bus arrives at WRBC at 5:15pm on Friday (May 20th) to pick us up leaving for Camp Nutimik, EAT BEFORE YOU GET THERE. We won’t have supper at Camp when we get there that night.
Bus will return to WRBC at 3:30pm on Sunday, for you to be picked up by your Parents. We will make sure Parents get a phone call from their child once we are within 30 minutes of arriving back at the church.
There will be an update email once we get to camp for you parents to feel safe in knowing that we will have arrived, and an update once we leave camp as well.

TONIGHT: Come and spend time with your friends and potential future friends, as we play games, sing songs, listen to God speak, eat snack, and spend valuable time with our small groups tonight! At the church at 7pm! Be there!
Upcoming Events:
Camp Nutimik Worship Night- Happens Next Friday (13th) at WRBC Church, there will be lots of people some of whom you’ve probably met, some who will be awesome to get to know. Lets come and worship together! (7pm)
Camp Nutimik Retreat- On May 20th the senior Youth (Grade 9-12) will be meeting at the Church at 5pm to take the Bus out to Camp Nutimik for an awesome time of connection, being out in God’s creation, worship and so much more. We will return back to the Church on Sunday the 22nd of May around 3pm.
TECHNICALLY the Deadline has passed, but because there were some issues with the registration form, if you LET ME KNOW THAT YOU’RE COMING BY TONIGHT, I will mark you down. Hey All,
I hope you all remembered that tonight we are at MISSION FEST @ Church of the Rock. This means we will NOT meet at WRBC. We will be meeting at 6:45pm in the front entrance of Church of the Rock where I will sign you in and give you some instructions for the night.
There will be some awesome booths with information about missions around the world; we’ll be in the session that starts at 7. The booths close at 9:15 and if you are getting picked up you’ll have to let me know that you’re leaving so I can make sure no-one gets left behind. Feel free to direct any question toward me.

Hope you’re all sitting warm and cozy because although it might not be the storm of the century out there… it is a bit crazy.
We are coming on Easter Weekend this week. Tomorrow is Good Friday. Remembering the story of Jesus going to his death for our sake. I hope you all take time to dig into what that means for you.

I want to acknowledge that our Youth nights have recently gone longer than 9pm even though that is the official end time. This is usually because the kids absolutely love the use of the gym and the ability to spend time with their friends. If you would like to comment on this, please let me know if this is an issue that we should be addressing. I would love your feedback on this.

Hey You lovely people!
We are coming close to Christmas and the end of the year, so here is what you need to know!
Tomorrow (Dec. 10th) we are meeting at 7pm at the Church for a time of Worship, games, a lesson, and some time spent together resting in God’s presence. Our topic tomorrow will start a bit of a longer series on the conversation about our identity. Who are we? I hope to see ya’ll tomorrow!
Next week (Dec. 17th) is our Christmas Party, where we will listen to the Christmas story, build some Gingerbread houses, and celebrate Christ’s coming as a group!
We will take a break over Christmas and New Years, so after the 17th, we won’t meet until the 7th of January! Don’t worry, I’ll remind you.
For the Seniors, our retreat will be happening on January 14th-to 16th! We will head out to Nutimik for a few days to find rest and joy in spending time together. I will be sending out Registrations next week with all the information for that!

Thank you for sticking with us through the hard conversations we’ve been having. It has been such a great time to dig into these topics with you all and we will continue those as well.
BUT this week we are taking a week off to take a breather. It has been a bit heavy, so to lighten it up, this week we will be playing Gorgon and Manhunter! We’ll have snack and hang out in our small groups as well. So come to the Church at 7pm and we’ll have a blast!
Our 4HG Christmas party will be on Dec 17th, and we will be taking off for two weeks over Christmas and New Years. We will be back on the 7th of January.

Two main point in this email to keep an eye on; Christmas, and the Senior Youth Retreat.
Before those two points I want to make sure you know what the plan is for this week! On Friday (Nov. 26th) we will be meeting at 7pm for our 4HG time. We will be finishing off the topic of Sanctity of Life for now and close up some questions you might have on this before we move on.
On the 17th of December we will be holding our Christmas Party here at the Church. We’ll build some ginger bread houses, sing some Christmas songs, play some games and share the Christmas Story.
The SENIOR RETREAT!!! It was supposed to happen at the beginning of December, but due to some shifts in restrictions and business of the Christmas season it will be postponed until the Weekend of January 14-16. It will only be available to Students (Grades 9-12) and Leaders who have been vaccinated (due to regulations), we will be in cohorts that will have limited interactions with one another, and it might look very different from previous camp experiences you have had. It is super important for us to find a moment of rest. Away from the internet, the phone, the busyness of life. To that end, we will do our best to keep people safe and in community. Registration information will be coming next week, please keep your eyes and ears open for that.
Hey Students and Parents!
We are getting into some of the heavier topics over the next few weeks, starting this week (Fri Nov. 5th) with the ‘Sanctity of Life’. We will be talking about the topics of Abortion, Euthanasia, and Capital Punishment over the next 3-4 weeks. I’m hoping to make it informative and not traumatizing, but if you have concerns or questions with regards to these topics please contact me. We will still have our games, snack, worship, and small-group as usual, so i hope to see ya’ll there!
In line with these topics I understand there are some, especially within our Senior Youth who have been dealing with some hard things in their life over the last while, I have been planning at Retreat for our Senior youth at Camp Nutimik at the beginning of December. It would go from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon and would feature, food, games, teaching, and community (as covid restrictions allow). I understand that not every parent would be comfortable to send their kids to this, but I want to make sure you understand that we will hold to all the requirements the Camp would ask of us, and while there would definitely be ridiculousness and fun, the main goal would be to give our Senior Students a few days of Rest (without tv, phone, school stress) and be in the presence of God.
Please feel free to share some feedback on this with me, whether you agree or disagree, I would love to hear from you!

She will be coming to us and speaking about what it means to be someone who did not grow up in Canada and share a vision in our Youth about reaching the people around us!
