Join us for our Kids at the Ridge Summer VBS Camp Program this summer from July 21-25.

We’ll be discovering the bigness of God in the smallest of things. We’ll be encouraging kids to look closely at the details of God’s amazing world and magnify and proclaim the greatness of God.

We’re back for an In-house night this coming Friday! Games, snack, a question being answered, and small group time! 

We do have some exciting things for the end of March and April.  Please make note of our upcoming events, especially the upcoming worship night. It will be at a church in North Winnipeg so we will see if we should go together on a bus or arrange some carpooling. Email Pastor Rudy by Friday if you think are interested in travelling together to the church.

Unfortunately, none of these applicants met the requirements for our Lead Pastor position, as outlined in the job description. Our church is part of the North American Baptist (NAB) Conference. One of the blessings of belonging to the NAB is having missionaries we love and support through them. Currently, we support Nick & Iris Hung (Evangelism and Discipleship in Japan) and Lyndell Campbell-Réquia (Leadership Development in Brazil). Every three months our missionaries write newsletters so that we can stay connected with them and know how to uphold them in prayer.  We’d love for you to get to know these amazing people and encourage you to read their newsletters today!

Missionfest Manitoba is coming up soon February 7-9 at Church of the Rock! Join us for a weekend of learning about God at work here and around the world as speakers share about our theme, How Shall They Hear? Experience fascinating breakout sessions and great worship, and explore over 130 ministries and missions. Youth and Young Adults will love After Hours on Friday night! You won’t want to miss this opportunity to be informed, inspired, equipped and engaged in the Great Commission. Thank You from Our Missionaries:

Far Corners Ministry:  On behalf of Far Corners Ministry we want to say a very big “Thank You” for the very generous Christmas offering we received from the Whyte Ridge church family.  These funds cover the cost of helping children of needy pastors to have access to a better quality education that they would receive otherwise.  In some cases they are able to attend better schools and in other places where that is not an option, the children can get extra tutoring.  This results in children having the tools to complete their schooling and be able to pursue higher education.  So thanks once again for partnering with us and supporting this aspect of ministry in northeast India that is making a real difference in young lives! – In His service, Shant & Ginny Manuel

 Kids at the Ridge Programming

Kids at the Ridge Request – Trust Package Donations Needed!  

On Sunday, January 19th, as part of our lesson on trusting God (and the Israelites wandering the desert), our kids will be making a “Trust Package” containing a few basic needs for someone who needs encouragement!  They will also write a note of encouragement (or draw a picture) to put in their bags and let them know that God loves them. They can take this package home and decide who they would like to give it to. 

In order to do this activity with the kids, we are looking for some items to add to our packages!   Here are some ideas of what we need (must fit in a medium ziplock bag): band-aids, small sanitizer bottles, individual kleenex packages, gum, mentos, travel size shampoos or other toiletries etc.   Please drop off any items you can donate this Sunday or by next Sunday morning for us to use for our Trust Packages on January 19th!

 Kids at the Ridge Programming

Kids at the Ridge Request – Trust Package Donations Needed!  

On Sunday, January 19th, as part of our lesson on trusting God (and the Israelites wandering the desert), our kids will be making a “Trust Package” containing a few basic needs for someone who needs encouragement!  They will also write a note of encouragement (or draw a picture) to put in their bags and let them know that God loves them. They can take this package home and decide who they would like to give it to. 

In order to do this activity with the kids, we are looking for some items to add to our packages!   Here are some ideas of what we need (must fit in a medium ziplock bag): band-aids, small sanitizer bottles, individual kleenex packages, gum, mentos, travel size shampoos or other toiletries etc.   Please drop off any items you can donate this Sunday or by next Sunday morning for us to use for our Trust Packages on January 19th!

January 10th – Skating Night at the Forks

This Friday we will be meeting at The Forks for some Ice Skating on the River, so bring your skates, dress up cozy, and come to do some communal skating on the river. We will meet at the “Forks Market Plaza and Canopy” (google this if you’re not sure how to get there). We will be in that space from 6:30pm to 830pm! Make note of the times and let your rides know!

Growing In Grace Legal Learning Month – Thursday, January 9, 2025, 12 pm – 2 pm.  Register by January 5: Growing In Grace Registration.  Join us for our January get-together when we have Hannah Humphries (lawyer) come and share with us a legal point of view dealing with power of attorney, wills, health directives and other legal issues. Breakfast at noon is on the menu. Pre-registration and pre-payment of $10 is required.

Register: Precepts Registration.  The study of Ecclesiastes – Life Under the Sun explores the meaning of life under the sun and its relationship to eternity and God. Continue to pray for the man that God has already chosen to lead WRBC into the future. Pray that he would see the job posting and the Holy Spirit would nudge him to apply. Pray that God would prepare his heart and if appropriate, his family, for this opportunity. Pray for our staff and ministry leaders who are continuing the work God has for us at WRBC. And pray for us all as a church family, that together we would be united and patiently perseverant.

Family Support Centre is in need of soothers, newborn(0-3 month) sleepers, baby shampoo/soap and diaper cream to go in the Baby Layettes given to the moms. 

Please consider helping moms in need and drop off your items at the church in the blue bin by the mail slots.

Formula is always needed if you are able to donate (most requested brands – Enfamil, Similac & Good Start).
